Trust should arrive before the lead form.

This charter defines what Petrichor means by a useful free decision instrument. It governs the result, artifact, evidence, data handling, and route into paid work.

Portfolio transition Petrichor is replacing its older scorecard pages with working decision instruments. A page is not described as upgraded until it satisfies this charter and its release tests.

The commitments

  1. Primary value is ungated. The promised result and working artifact appear before any request for identity, payment, or a sales conversation.
  2. The method is visible.Calculations, decision rules, evidence status, assumptions, limitations, and method version are available with the result.
  3. Unknown is not healthy.Missing, stale, contested, or estimated evidence stays visible. It is never silently scored as proof.
  4. The artifact can leave the page.A user can print, copy, or export the primary work in a form another person can understand and challenge.
  5. Optional email is a separate exchange.Email may deliver an editable file, reminder, or reference pack. Marketing consent is separate, affirmative, and unchecked by default.
  6. Strategic text stays local by default.Working data remains in the browser unless the user takes a clearly explained action that requires transmission.
  7. No silent method changes.Every artifact carries dates and versions. Material rule or evidence changes receive a change note.
  8. No fabricated benchmarks.Petrichor will not present an average or peer comparison without an eligible dataset, published method, sample size, dates, and limitations.
  9. Failure does not take the result away.An analytics, email, or optional AI failure cannot hide a deterministic result or remove a printable fallback.
  10. Paid work starts where the tool stops. The matching workshop or engagement addresses unresolved evidence, alignment, judgment, and implementation. It does not charge the buyer to repeat the free exercise.

How data is treated

Structured, non-sensitive inputsCalculated in the browser. Anonymous interaction events may be measured without recording the values.
Strategic working textBrowser-only by default. It is excluded from analytics and is not sent to AI without a separate action and notice.
Confidential or regulated informationNot permitted in public tools. This includes client matters, personal data, privileged material, and controlled documents.
Local savesOpt-in, versioned, device-only, and removable through a visible clear-data control.

What an assessment cannot mean

A Petrichor tool can structure evidence and expose a decision gap. It cannot certify that a company, strategy, AI system, workflow, or deployment is safe, compliant, approved, or risk-free. Final decisions remain with the people qualified and accountable to make them.

Challenge the result

If a result cannot be reconstructed from its inputs and stated rules, it has failed this charter. If an evidence source is stale or a method appears misleading, contact Petrichor through the route shown on the relevant tool page and include the tool name, artifact ID, and method version. Do not send confidential artifact content.
