Plain-language answer
How do I know whether authority is accumulating with attribution?
A citation ledger classifies public reproductions of an idea by attribution, independence, freshness, source type, and retrieval.
Short answer
Use evidence that can survive a second reader.
- Credited share equals credited records divided by all reviewed records.
- Independent share equals independent records divided by all reviewed records.
- A record is current when its publication date is valid and no more than 180 days old.
- A small working sample is never presented as a market benchmark.
