How do I know whether authority is accumulating with attribution?

A citation ledger classifies public reproductions of an idea by attribution, independence, freshness, source type, and retrieval.

Short answer

Use evidence that can survive a second reader.

  1. Credited share equals credited records divided by all reviewed records.
  2. Independent share equals independent records divided by all reviewed records.
  3. A record is current when its publication date is valid and no more than 180 days old.
  4. A small working sample is never presented as a market benchmark.
